Trail Challenge! Still Time to Enter!

The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee is taking entries now for the 5th Annual Trail Challenge to be held at Branched Oak Lake's Homestead Campground (horse camp), northwest of Lincoln, on Sept. 6. Bring your horse, your family & friends and join us at Branched Lake. Ride the beautiful trails and have some fun with the obstacles along the way. Family friendly! I had back to back vacations. One horse vacation - to Wyoming - and one "family" vacation to Colorado. On the Wyoming trip, we drove about twelve hundred miles with two horses and was gone Tuesday through Sunday. For the Colorado trip, we flew (frequent flier miles), stayed at a Hilton (with a low Priceline.com price) and was gone just a little over 60 hours. Guess which trip cost more? Tra...Vacationing

We were planning to go camping this weekend. No competing, just pleasure riding. I miss my camping buddies! We had food planned, ETAs figured out, even talked about which dogs would make the trip. And in all of our excitement, we forgot to check the weather. I woke up to rain, lightning and thunder, a flooding pasture again and two to four inches of rain in the area.
